Direct Speech & Indirect Speech

Direct dan Indirect Speech atau yang lebih di kenal dengan kalimat langsung dan kalimat tak langsung adalah kalimat yang di gunakan ketika seseorang ingin menceritakan apa yang telah di katakan oleh seseorang kepada orang lain. 

1) Direct Speech / Kalimat Langsung adalah Kutipan asli suatu pembicaraan tanpa adanya suatu perubahan.

Rumus:

•    S + Saying Verb + , + "S+V"
•   "S+V" + S + Saying Verb

• My mother said, "I want to meet your roomate"

2) Indirect Speech / Kalimat Tidak Langsung adalah Kalimat laporan untuk menceritakan kembalu pembicaraan seseorang dengan beberapa modifikasi

•   S + Saying Verb + that + S+V

• My mother said that she wanted to meet my rommate

-Perubahan Tenses dari Direct Speech menjadi Indirect Speech

(Direct) Simple Future > (Indirect) Past Future Tense

(D) S+Will+V1 > (I) S+Would+V1

(Direct) Future Continuous > (Indirect) Past Future Continuous

(D) S+will be+V-ing > (I) S+Would be+V-ing

(Direct) Simple Present > (Indirect) Simple Past Tense

(Direct) Present Continuous > Past Continuous
